Seasonal positions work through November or December and have the opportunity to return the following February/March. Must be available to work weekends.Our Tour Guides work in a dynamic tourist environment focused on customer satisfaction. A guide provides a fun, engaging, and informative tour. They provide for the comfort and safety of our guests while delivering information on natural and cultural resources in a meaningful way.RESPONSIBILITESAble to perform the following Guide fundamentals in a satisfactory manner:Conducts tours in an engaging, fun, and professional mannerSkilled driving on and off roadPresents expected information on all tours: Local history, geology, USFS/NPS (as applicable), plants and animalsAssists guests in and out of the Jeep and demonstrates concern for their safety and comfortDisplays a positive, friendly and professional attitude in all interactions with customers, fellow employees, citizens, competitors, hotel/resort staff, and managementMaintains a good attendance recordRespects and follows company policies and proceduresTakes constructive feedback in a respectful manner and applies itIs available to work up to 12-hour days with up to 10 hours of tour timeConsistently and carefully inspects, operates, and cleans their JeepsRepetitive motion involves climbing in and out of the jeep, reaching overhead and across at chest levelMaintain efficient, daily contact and adequate radio communication with the reservation staff to assure timely tour departures and accurate Jeep assignmentsSafely operates the Jeep through challenging city traffic, varied terrain, in all types of weather conditions, while crafting entertaining and informative toursQUALIFICATIONS & ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTSMust be 25 years of age or older with an excellent driving recordMust be able to pass a DOT physicalTeam player that is self-motivated and takes initiativeGood judgment and problem-solving skillsPassionate about the outdoors with an interest in flora, fauna, history, archaeology, and geologyAble to endure weather extremes in a physical-oriented jobDefensive driving skills and a driver's license clear of major moving violationsCan endure frequent bouncing up and down in the driver's seat as a result of driving on rugged trails, washboard gravel roads, and climbing up and over rocks on the off-road portions of our toursAble to walk on dirt trails, uneven ground, and rock formations to point out scenic views and rock structuresMust be able to speak and hear clearly to provide quality customer serviceCPR/First Aid certified - able to remain calm and effective when dealing with medical emergencies encounteredInterpersonal SkillsAdvancedCommunication SkillsAdvancedTeam PlayerWorks well as a member of a groupDedicatedDevoted to a task or purpose with loyalty or integrityEnthusiasticShows intense and eager enjoyment and interestMotivationsSelf-StarterInspired to perform without outside helpFlexibilityInspired to perform well when granted the ability to set your own schedule and goalsAbility to Make an ImpactInspired to perform well by the ability to contribute to the success of a project or the organizationEqual Opportunity EmployerThis employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.For further information, please review the Know Your Rights notice from the Department of Labor.#J-18808-Ljbffr
